1. This is an open show & anyone is eligible to enter with entry fee. Entry fee is $25 for exhibitors (limit 2). The first entry is free with your registration. Additional entries are $5.00 per each entry. The categories of competition are listed in this packet. Entries into each category will be limited to two entries per exhibitor. Each entry must be the personal work of the exhibitor, must have been completed within the previous 24 months and may not have won a blue ribbon in one previous show to be eligible for competition. Carvings made in formal classes or under the guidance of an instructor are not eligible to be entered in the competition. The Show Officials have the right to refuse and carving they believe to be in poor taste or for other just cause. Pieces made from rough outs are accepted. Entries into the Miscellaneous category are limited to those carvings which would not be appropriate in any of the other categories. Entry placement, into a specific category, will be at the discretion of the Show Officials.
2. Payment must accompany all applications.
3. Because of limited table space, applications for tables are limited to one additional table per exhibitor and are accepted on the basis of availability when received. Also, because of limited access, electrical outlets are limited and will be assigned on the basis of availability when received.
4. To assure reserving a space in the show, please send your application in by August 1. We will continue to accept applications after that date as availability allows. Applications for an entry will be put on a waiting list when all available space has been rented pending cancellation or changes up to the week before the show. If we are unable to accommodate you, a full refund will be sent one week prior to the show. Refunds for cancellations will be made until August 24.
5. Tables must present a pleasing appearance. Tables are 6ft by 30 inches & must be covered on to & drop to floor on the front & sides. This cover must be supplied by the exhibitors & suitable for this purpose. NO WRINKLED SHEETS PLEASE. Each entry will include 2 chairs, if needed, but feel free to bring your own chair.
6. Set-up time will be 7:00 until 9:00 on Saturday. The show will begin at 9:00 AM. Carvings for carving for competition must be in place by 9:00 when the show opens.
7. All carvers must keep their table & exhibits in tact until the end of the show at 4:00 PM.
8. No ribbons may be displayed except for the ribbons won at this show.
9. Circle City Carving Club will not be responsible for any loss or damage. Exhibitors are responsible for their own carvings.
10. Smoking & alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the premises.
11. Overnight parking is not permitted in the fair grounds.
12. Limit of 2 exhibitors per entry space.
13. Exhibitors are responsible for collection of Indiana sales tax.
14. Exhibitors are responsible for clean up of their area. Carving during the show is encouraged, but floor covering to catch chips must be used.
15. There will be a food stand.
Judging & prizes
Each ticket purchaser attending the show will receive a ballot for the "People's Choice" which will need to be turned in by 3:00 pm. Also, exhibitors will receive a ballot with their registration packet. This ballot is for the "Carver's Choice" award and is to be completed by 11:00am so that ribbons can be awarded. Ribbons for each category will include 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

CATEGORIES
1. Relief Carving- carvings of any subject done on a flat surface to give the illusion of depth. 2. Chip Carving- any item with chip carving on it. 3. Caricature- carving of a human or animal figure in exaggerated or comical form. 4. Human- carving of a human figure. 5. Animal Definition as same as for a human. Includes all (except birds). 6. Bird- includes all types of bird. Caricature birds will be put in the caricature category. 7. Decorative Carving- any carving done in free art form, including birds, animals or human figures. 8. Christmas Carving- anything carved with a Christmas motif. 9. Fish & Aquatic- any carving of aquatic species. 10. Bark Carving- any carving done on bark. 11. Woodburning (pyrography)- all finishes including nature scenes, scenery, human & historical figures, signs, decorative, etc. 12. Miscellaneous- any carving not covered above 13. Woodturnings Any wood working piece that was created primarily by using a lathe.
Note: No mail-in carvings will be accepted for competition, however, carvings carried in will be allowed at $5 per entry. The person entering a carried in carving will be responsible for picking up the carving by 4:00pm. Carvings left after that time will become Circle City Carvers property.
